Targeted For Using Social Work In  Society  In the morning of 26 February 2015, human rights defender Mr Kalimuthu Kandhasamy was remanded to judicial custody after having been arbitrarily arrested at his home in Kavarangulam, Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu, at approximately 7:15 pm the evening before. Kalimuthu Kandhasamy is the District Organizer of Citizens for Human Rights Movement (CHRM), an unregistered organisation that provides legal counsel and assistance to victims of human rights violations in Tamil Nadu, including by providing assistance in complaints before courts, human rights institutions, law enforcement officials and other relevant bodies. The organisation was founded by People’s Watch, an NGO that monitors human rights violations and provides legal assistance to victims in Tamil Nadu. वायु प्रदूषण से तीन साल घटी भारतीयों की उम्र, अब  ज्यादा बीमार पड़ने लगे हैं  नई दिल्ली.  भारत की हवा में फैला जहर देशवासियों की औसत उम्र घटा रहा है। एक नई स्टडी के मुताबिक, वायु प्रदूषण की वजह से भारत के लोगों की उम्र तीन साल तक कम हो गई है। वायु प्रदूषण से लोगों की प्रोडक्टिविटी में कमी आई है। वे ज्यादा बीमार पड़ने लगे हैं और उनका अपने स्वास्थ्य पर किया जाने वाले खर्च भी बढ़ गया है। विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन डब्ल्यूएचओ के मुताबिक, दुनिया के 20 सबसे अधिक प्रदूषित शहरों में से 13 भारत में हैं। 27.2 करोड़ लोग ऐसे स्थान पर रहते हैं, जहां हवा में घुले सूक्ष्म कण डब्ल्यूएचओ के मानकों से आठ गुना ज्यादा हैं। वायु प्रदूषण का सबसे ज्यादा शिकार हो रहे हैं ‘आम आदमी’ शिकागो, हावर्ड और याले यूनिवर्सिटी के अर्थशास्त्रियों द्वारा की गई यह स्टडी इस सप्ताह के इकनॉमिक एंड पॉलिटिकल वीकली में प्रकाशित हुई है। स्टडी में कहा गया है कि भारत की आधी आबादी यानी करीब 66 करोड़ लोग उन क्षेत्रों में रहते हैं, जहां हवा में मौजूद खतरनाक स्तर के सूक्ष्म कण भारतीय मानकों से चार गुना ऊपर पहुंच च
