WESTERN RAILWAY
IMPLEMENTING BOMBAY HIGH COURT ORDER FOR NOT TO TRAVEL IN LUGGAGE COACH.
9000+ PASSENGER PENALISED IN 2019 TILL APRIL
MUMBAI: In a PIL at Bombay high court challenging illegal transfer of north end luggage coach to tiffin services 2 hours in both direction the central railway submitted to high court that travelling is not allowed in luggage coach and get PIL get disposed. Fact is that central and western railway has provided fan, seat etc to travel in luggage coach. The petitioner requested the central and western railway to implement order as per their stand in court. The western railway replied that their is ban to travel in luggage coach of EMU and more than 9000 passengers has been penalised this year till april. But Central railway has not replied the complaint till date. Inspite to penalise the passenger why railway is not removing fan and seat from coach? The are not putting such sticker outside luggage coach. This is also fact that everyday thousands of passengers are travelling in luggage coach in peak hours.
Unfair on the railways to penalise commuters for travelling in luggage compartments
