Mumbai: Ministry of Railway designed dress regulation 2004 for all operational railway employees . All TTE, Guard, Driver, Station Manager, Gangman, Motorman, Peon, RPF,etc have to wear dress during operation . It help presence of employee in railway zone and also helpful for passengers during need. At Mumbai Motorman and Guards of Central & Western Railway denying dress regulation and discharging duty in civil dress. Due to this there is always possibility that any unknown person can hijack train and collide it.
Media Reporter and Activist Sapan Shrivastava filed PIL against such violation . In an affidavit reply filed by Central railway officer and western railway officer oppose this dress regulation . As per their affidavit it is causing threat to life of motormens and guards. They gave submission that during failure of service public attack them and their life is in risk. In order to suggest railway board to change dress regulation for motorman and guard they oppose Board policy in PIL at Bombay High Court.As per law public servant can not oppose govt policy but how they are acting against own bosses is surprise.Only central railway guards follow dress regulation in Mumbai division.
