Indian Mars Mission Cheap Then Average Auto Fare And Building At Mumbai 'ऑटो के किराये और मुकेश अंबानी के घर से भी सस्ता है मंगलयान'
India pulled off what can best be described as a triumph of frugal engineering when its scientists successfully placed the Mangalyaan satellite in the orbit around Mars on Wednesday morning (local time), propelling the country into a select club of interplanetary exploring nations. India is the only country to succeed on its maiden attempt.
Scientists at the space agency, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), exulted as the spacecraft’s engines completed 24 minutes of burn and slipped into its designated orbit around the planet.
“We have gone beyond the boundaries of human enterprise and innovation,”prime minister Narendra Modi said as he congratulated the scientists after witnessing the maneuver at the spacecraft’s command center at ISRO’s Bangalore headquarters. “We have dared to reach into the unknown,” he said. Modi asked Indians to celebrate the scientists.
The 3,000 pound Mars satellite cost $75 million and 18 months to build. It is only the fourth mission to enter the Martian orbit, following probes from the United States, Russia and the European space agency.
The mission could be a turning point as India can now market its status as a low-cost base for sophisticated engineering. ISRO is already launching commercial satellites for a host of Western countries at competitive costs. The success of the mission could also quash criticism that a poor country should not have spent $75 million on a mission whose outcome is uncertain at a time when millions of Indians are starving.
NASA’s Maven space mission which has already positioned itself into its Martian orbit, cost $671 million.
Mangalyaan will circle the planet for six months as its instruments gather data, including measuring the presence of methane gas, a marker of life on the planet.

भारत ने मंगलयान को सफलतापूर्वक मंगल की कक्षा में स्थापित कर दिया है। भारत पहली ही कोशिश में कामयाबी हासिल करने वाला न सिर्फ पहला देश है, बल्कि उसके इस मिशन की लागत भी बेहद कम है। प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने इसे हॉलिवु़ड मूवी 'ग्रैविटी' से सस्ता बताया है, लेकिन यह भारत की और भी कई चीज़ों से बेहद सस्ता है।
मंगलयान के मंगल की कक्षा में स्थापित होने के बाद लोग मजेदार ट्वीट कर रहे हैं। कुछ लोग इसे दिल्ली में ऑटो के किराए से भी सस्ता बता रहे हैं, तो कुछ मुकेश अंबानी के घर और बांद्रा-वर्ली सी लिंक से भी इसकी तुलना कर रहे हैं।

पूरे मंगलयान ऑपरेशन की लागत है 450 करोड़ रुपये और कुल 65 करोड़ किलोमीटर की यात्रा के लिए 7 रुपये प्रति किलोमीटर का खर्च हो रहा है। यानी ऑटोवालों के किराए से भी कम।
मंगल की तरफ जाना बांद्रा से वर्ली जाने से भी 5 गुना सस्ता है।
मंगलयान पर 450 करोड़ रुपये की लागत आई है। यह खर्च मुकेश अंबानी के घर 'एंटीलिया' का सिर्फ 1/10 है।
भारत ने कामयाब मंगल मिशन पर 460 करोड़ रुपये खर्च किए, जबकि दिवाली पर यहां 5 हजार करोड़ रुपये पटाखे चला दिए जाते हैं। कमाल के आंकड़े हैं।
