Mumbai: A Public Interest Litigation has been filed by Media reporter against 5000+ errant government college passed doctors for not serving 1-2 years at rural areas. As per medical bond of DMER the govt. college passed doctors have to serve at villages because they are getting huge subsidy in medical education from tax payers money. The Directorate Of Medical Education and Research Maharashtra (DMER) have more than 20 colleges and MCGM Mumbai have 5 Medical colleges. As per law they have to pay Rs 15 lacs for MBBS and Rs 50 lacs-2cr for PG courses.

As per few RTI received the amount without interest is pending of Rs 531cr for 6 colleges. The amount may rise to Rs2000 cr for all the colleges. Only 5% doctors serve at villages or pay Bond value till today to release their bond with DMER. Petitioner requested court to recover bond value with 18% interest from errant doctors.
