EXCISE MUMBAI INVOLVE IN HUGE CORRUPTION OF RENEWAL OF LICENSES OF LIQUOR SHOPS FL 2-4
COLLECTOR ISSUED LICENSE TO ILLEGAL STRUCTURE
Mumbai: District Excise Committee is issuing liquor trade licenses in illegal structure and without Fire NOC. In Order to terminate license of wine shop the Excise Mumbai City office transfered complaint to MCGM for action. Collector , MCGM Commissioner, Police Commissioner , Superintendent Of Excise, CEO Zila Parishad etc are in district committee. The nexus is so strong that no action was taken by excise department for operation in illegal structure, without Fire NOC etc. As per complaint the shop was also selling alcohol to non permit holders , the excise superintendent AB Chaskar not ordered to check sales record with consumption permit number of customer. For each illegal sales and buy there is penalty of Rs 50000 approx with jail.
The MCGM closed complaint by fining wine shop owner with penny amount.
COMPLAINT
Johnson Wines , Jaikar Wadi, Vidyalankar College Rd, Wadala East, Nandkarni Park, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400037 The aforesaid shop have no Occupational certificate of shop ie illegal structure and also no Fire NOC. The Shop also selling non license wines etc to customers. Mostly are of near age 20 .check sales record list of last 1 year. The owner never sit at shop. Plz investigate and terminate the license.
REPLY: The said site was inspected in 20.02.2018. On the site illegally selling of liquor was found. Therefore, Court case filled against shop owner under section 471 of MMC Act, 1888
SECTION 471 OF MMC ACT :
According to rules & regulations of the Corporation and as per section 479 of Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act 1888, licences for trades and storage are granted. Under section 471 of Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act, the person trading and storing unauthorizedly is fined. Further if unauthorized trades and storages are dangerous to lives of citizens then after obtaining remarks of Fire Brigade under section 394 of Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act the goods will be seized. Legal action taken against unauthorized production and storage of inflammable, dangerous & hazardous chemicals. Sometimes seizure action against such production and storages taken under section 516 AA of Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act with help of police.
