Three civilians, militant killed in Chadoora encounter: Police
Srinagar: Four persons including three civilians and a militant were killed Tuesday during an encounter and clashes in Durbugh village of Chadoora area Kashmir’s Budgam district.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Central Kashmir Range, Ghulam Hassan Bhat said that a militant was killed in an encounter. “One army man was also injured in an encounter,” Bhat told .
The militant as per reports has been identified as Touseef Ahmad Wagay son of Ghulam Qadir Wagay Kanjikulla, village of Yaripora area in Kulgam district.
The encounter raged between the forces and militants in the wee hours of this morning.
“The three civilians were also killed during the clashes that erupted during the encounter in the area,” the DIG said.
The youth who were killed were identified as Zaid Rashid Ganie son of Abdul Rashid Ganie, resident of Chadoora, Sakib Ahmad from Wathoora, Budgam and Ashfaq Ahmad, a resident of Rangreth.
Doctors said that the slain youth had received bullet injuries.
Zaid was brought to SMHS, Srinagar where he succumbed to his injuries while Saqib succumbed to his injuries at Sub District Hospital (SDH) Chadoora. The third civilian, Ashfaq after receiving the bullet injuries was immediately rushed to SMHS hospital but he was brought dead by the doctors there.
Meanwhile, the reports said that dozens of civilians were injured during the clashes in the area that erupted after encounter started in the area.
The injured youth who sustained pellet injuries were immediately rushed to the SMHS hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, DIG CKR said that dozens of security forces have received injuries during the clashes in the area.
